This device might be a bit unfamiliar today, but was often used during the Roaring Twenties up til the 1960s. Even though we now appreciate the carbonization in champagne, for a while it was considered not chic to drink carbonated wines.
Champagne was therefore often served in coupes instead of flutes, which allowed the bubbles to dissipate more quickly. However, for those desiring not to have any bubbles at all, this handy little pendant could be used to stir the last bubbles out of your champagne before drinking it. How convenient!
