
This delightful small butterfly brooch is such a beauty to behold and will add a touch of elegance to any outfit. Made from 835 silver, its body is set with a cabochon-cut red paste and a row of five rose-cut diamonds. The brooch is fitted with a C-clasp and a long pin, typical for its era.
In the late 19th Century, small novelty brooches in the shape of animals or flowers were worn often. Little animals such as bugs, spiders and lizards were especially popular, and added some whimsy and humor to an outfit.
