The design of this 14k yellow gold crossover bracelet is inspired by Etruscan designs. The discovery of several Etruscan tombs in the 1860s created a craze for neo-Etruscan fashion, and therefore Etruscan influences can be found in lots of Victorian jewels.
The bangle has a buttery yellow colour, similar to the high-karat gold jewels created by the Etruscans, which was achieved with a technique known as 'blooming'. Bloomed gold has received a chemical process that removes a minute layer of the gold alloy at the top, creating an alloy-free, thin layer of soft, pure gold on the surface.
The bangle opens and closes with a box clasp, which is still working securely. The bracelet is also fitted with a safety chain, to prevent it from slipping off unnoticed.
