
In the early 19th Century, letters were often sealed with hot wax. This rare 19th-century wax seal spinner has three spinning wheel that provides its owner with nine different seals in total to choose from.
The seals depict the following:
Shield-shaped wheel:
A pansy flower
A butterfly
a daffodil flower
Octagonal-shaped wheel:
A sitting dog
the motto: God Bless You
A ship at sea
Shield-shaped wheel:
A lyre
A dog's head
A boar's head
The motto is depicted in mirror image, making it readable when pressed in hot wax.
