These gilt earrings are typical of jewellery designs from the mid-19th Century. Their bold design is composed of a large scroll, which is decorated with tiny spheres and filigree details, and set with a cabochon-cut garnet.
Although they are made from a non-precious metal, they were each made by hand, resulting in two earrings that differ slightly from each other. They are fitted with screw fittings, so they can be worn without pierced ears.
