This antique bangle is decorated with motives that are very typical for its era, the second half of the 19th Century. During this period, bold silver bracelets which were partially gilded in either rose or yellow gold were very popular and were often worn on both wrists.
This bracelet is decorated with a meander pattern which was used often in the art and architecture of Ancient Greece. The front is set with a buckle pattern made from rose gold, which has been fastened by small gold screws.
All in all, this design still looks surprisingly modern after 150 years!
