The design of this impressive 14k gold and silver ring is reminiscent of 18th Century designs. Its hallmarks however tell us that is was in the 2nd half of the 20th Century by the Dutch firm Gebroeders Rozendaal, who specialized in making rose-cut diamond jewels in antique style.

Its kite-shaped design is centered by two large rose-cut diamonds, with a diameter of circa 8 and 7 mms, which are flanked by twelve smaller rose-cut diamonds of various sizes. All diamonds are placed in closed, silver settings. Traditionally, diamonds were set in silver to enhance their colour and brilliance, while the rest of the jewel was made from gold, to prevent the silver from tarnishing and staining skin or clothing.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Size: US 8 / UK P / 57 mm circumference.
The front setting measures 27 x 17 mm.
This ring could be resized if desired.
There are currently two small sizing beads soldered inside the shank, which keeps the ring from moving to the side and helps the large front setting stay centered when you wear it.

Weight: 5.00 grams.

Age: Vintage, 20th Century, circa 1960s.

Material and hallmarks: Hallmarked for 14k gold. The ring carries a hallmark for the Firma Roozendaal, which operated in The Netherlands between 1898 and 1972. The front settings are made from silver.

Condition: This ring is in vintage condition with some wear. Please note that the largest rose-cut diamond has a chip: this can be observed in the pictures. The foil behind all diamonds have created patina over time, which gives the diamonds a slightly greyish appearance. If desired, my jeweler could remove the backs and foils of the two central diamonds, making the ring a bit easier to clean and wear on a daily basis.
