GENERAL INFORMATION CUSHION-CUT HALF HOOP RING
Size: US 7.75 / UK P / Circumference 57 mm.
The front setting measures 22 x 7 mm and stands 4 mm from the finger when worn.
This ring could be sized if desired.
Weight: 2.74 grams.
Age: 19th Century, also known as the Georgian Era, circa 1830s.
Material and hallmarks: The ring carries no hallmarks but has been acid tested as being 18k gold and silver. The resizing mark that is mentioned below tests as about 12k gold.
Condition: The ring is in antique condition with some wear, consistent with its age. A few of the settings of the small rose-cut diamonds show wear, but all diamonds have been checked and are sitting securely in their settings: I suspect that one of these small diamonds was reset with some adhesive in the past, since it sits slightly above its setting in one corner. The back of the ring displays a resizing mark and clearly was sized up at some point in its past.
GENERAL INFORMATION TABLE-CUT CLUSTER RING
Size: US 6.25 / UK M 1/2, circumference 52.5 mm.
Front setting: 10 mm in diameter.
This ring could be resized if desired.
Weight: 2.44 grams
Age: 18th Century, also known as the Georgian era, circa 1780s.
Material: The ring does not carry any hallmarks but has been acid tested as being 18k gold and silver.
Condition: This ring is in great condition with only minor signs of wear, consistent with age. The foils behind the diamonds have coloured over time, which creates a slightly greyish patina beneath the diamonds, adding to their charm. The daisy at the back of the setting has rubbed away gently over time but can still be seen. The back of the shank displays an old resizing mark.
