This 18k gold ring is set with seven table-cut diamonds, which descend in size when seen from the central diamond, all placed in closed, silver settings. Their estimated size is 0.30 carats, 2x 0.15 carats, 2x 0.07 carats and 2x 0.02 carats, making the combined carat weight approximately 0.78 carats.

The table-cut diamond, considered the first true diamond cut, was developed in the 15th Century, emerging from the earlier point-cut. It was designed by polishing down the top and bottom of a natural octahedral diamond crystal to create a flat, square table.

Traditionally, diamonds were set in silver settings to enhance their colour and brilliance, while the backs and shanks were made of gold to prevent the silver from tarnishing and staining your skin.
