In the 19th Century, this yellow gold popcorn-link watch chain attached a pocket watch to a waistcoat. The chain would prevent theft or loss, and was visible when worn, making it a fashion accessory too.
It is fitted with a T-bar, which would have held the chain in place in a buttonhole. It has a dog clip on one end, which you could use to add a pendant or charm.
In the pictures, I have added a jump ring and a safety pin brooch to make it slightly longer: both additions are available, feel free to reach out through the contact button to receive information about their prices.
