This oval-shaped cluster ring is set with numerous rose-cut diamonds in various sizes, which create a truly sparkling display! The sides of the setting have been open-worked and all diamonds apart from the four large ones in the center have been placed in open settings, allowing light to pass through the stones. The four largest rose-cuts have been placed in a closed setting with a little piece of foil behind them, which helps bring out their brilliance.
The ring is made from 14kt yellow gold, but the settings are made from silver: traditionally, this was done because silver brings out the brilliance of the diamonds, yet can tarnish and potentially stain skin or clothing, which is why every other part is made from gold.
