This quirky pendant holds a lapis lazuli plaque, depicting a hornet made from black and brown hardstone and mother-of-pearl inlay, a technique known as pietra dura. Pietra dura is an ancient and intricate technique in which a hard stone mineral is inlaid with other coloured minerals.
This pendant is currently offered without a necklace, but I have several of varying lengths in stock: feel free to contact me if you would like to inquire about adding a necklace to your purchase.
