This bangle bracelet is very typical for the late 19th Century, when ladies would wear big and bold bracelets on both wrists. This particular example is made from 18-karat yellow gold and is decorated with a strand of Lily of the Valley, set with rose-cut diamonds and natural seed pearls.
Lily of the Valley is profusely used in Victorian jewellery since they were seen as a symbol of purity, joy, love, sincerity, happiness, and luck. In France, on 1st May for La Fête du Muguet, Lily of the Valleys are gifted to loved ones, which might also be why this beautiful bracelet was created.
