This jabot pin, with an 18k yellow gold back and platinum front is shaped like an arrow, set with tiny rose-cut diamonds.
The arrow and quiver are famously the weapons of Cupid, who uses his arrows to pierce a heart and make its victim fall in love. In the mid 19th Century, and well up to the first half of the 20th Century, brooches shaped like arrows, quivers or a combination of the two were a popular design, often gifted between lovers, signalling that you were not insusceptible to Cupids wishes. The fact that this quiver and bow are missing their arrows implies that Cupid has succeeded in his task for the day!
