This luxurious jewellery box is made from thuya wood, which has a characteristic three-dimensional light and shade-patterned appearance, accompanied by a multitude of small dark ‘eye’ formations. The front has been inlaid with a pattern of brass and mother-of-pearl inlay.
The interior is lined with partially tufted blue silk. The inside of the lid is fitted with a little faceted mirror, and the removable tray has room for several rings and a pair of drop earrings.
The original key is still present and in working order.
