This silver sautoir necklace is made up of fantasy links and is fitted with a small dog-clip at the bottom, which was originally used to attach a lorgnette, ensuring it would not get lost.

Age: 19th Century, circa 1890s.
Material: Acid-tested as being silver and hallmarked with a Dutch import hallmark, used between 1893 and 1905.
Condition: In good antique condition with only minor signs of wear, consistent with age. I have retained its original patina, which gives the silver a darker look; it can of course easily be cleaned if you like a shinier, polished look.
