This stickpin was originally worn in a man's cravat, the predecessor of the necktie. Its 14k yellow gold top is shaped like a chimera with a lion's head and the tail of a fish, which is holding a cabochon-cut synthetic ruby in its mouth. Its eye is set with a tiny green gemstone, which is likely an emerald but which is too small to identify with certainty. The pin is made from metal.
Not pictured is a little stopper, which I will include with your purchase to ensure you can wear the pin safely and securely!
Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss having this pin converted into a pendant for a small additional fee.
