This tiny 18k yellow gold lace pin brooch is set with a heart-shaped carnelian, topped by a round rose-cut diamond.
Small brooches like these are known as lace pins or modesty pins, and were used to pin a scarf or stole around a decolletage, to prevent showing more skin than desired.
