This 18th-century watch chain would have originally held a pocket watch, but can easily be worn as a bracelet or used as a chain extender today.
It is made from iron, which was originally highly polished to resemble silver. It is fitted with two split rings, meaning that you can add extra pendants if you wish, and a dog clasp.
The chain is completed by a swivel fob that displays a portrait of King George III on one side and the symbol of Fortitude, depicted by a lady leaning on a column, on the other.
