This 18th-century heart-shaped trinket box, possibly used for beauty patches, was likely gifted amongst lovers. Each side is decorated with an enameled panel. The front displays Cupid and Venus, with Venus holding a little bird in the air. Above the pair, one can read the German text 'Dis Vegelein mir Lieb Wird' (this little bird has become dear to me). The back panel displays a heart, a basket of flowers, and a hand that comes from heaven and offers a flower, with the text 'Schens bliemelein, Vergis niet Mein' (lovely little flower, forget me not).
