In the 18th Century, jewelry designed to look like straps or buckles became very popular. This yellow gold buckle was made around 1750 and was finely executed to resemble a tiny belt buckle around your finger, with the buckle set with eight rose-cut garnets. The shank is decorated with a pattern of flowers and kites, as is typical for rings from this period.
In the past, this ring was resized, which unfortunately has removed some of the original hallmarks: one is still faintly visible, but cannot be read anymore. Likely around the same time of this resizing, the ring was also given a new engraving: the inside reads 'TK' and '1879'.
A similar ring can be found in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, inventory number BK-1981-54.
