This 14k yellow gold and platinum ring is centered by an emerald-shaped panel, which is decorated with black enamel and four rows of antique round-cut diamonds.
Its start colour contrast and geometrical shape is very typical of the fashion of the Art Deco, which had its heyday in the 1920s and 1930s. After the Second World War, this timeless design era regained popularity, and therefore many pieces from the 1960s are also influenced by Art Deco ideas. The diamonds used in this ring are even older, cut in the 19th Century, and were likely reused from an antique jewel.
