
This gold egg-shaped pendant is decorated with bands of white, red and blue enamel. The red and blue bands are made guilloche enamel, which is created by adding a translucent enamel layer on an engine-turned pattern.

Age: Early 20th Century, circa 1910s.
Material: Marked '56' for 56 zolotnik, or 583/1000 gold, indicating it was made in Russia. Besides the gold content, it has two faux-hallmarks which are similar but not identical to Faberge hallmarks. This was done more often in the past, to entice a buyer to thinking he might have spotted a genuine - and priceless - Faberge jewel!
Condition: In great antique condition with only minor signs of wear, consistent with age.
