
This excellent paste necklace consist of a row of paste gemstones, cut to emulate diamonds, all set in closed, silver settings with a gilded back. The stones gently graduate in size and measure between 4 and 12 mm in diameter. One of the links at the back cleverly hides the clasp.

Age: 19th Century, circa 1850s.
Material: Hallmarked with French hallmarks for 800/1000 silver and 18k gold, used after 1838.
Condition: In great antique condition with minor wear, consistent with age. The foils behind the paste stones have created patina over time, giving them a slightly greyish appearance. The cannetille details are without damage, and the clasp is in great working order.
