This stunning 19th-century wax seal wheel was used to close personal letters with hot wax. Its seal depicts a scarab at one side, and a monogram that reads 'RB' on the other side.
The stem of the seal is encircled by two coiling snakes, and the top - which can mysteriously open - is decorated with the head of a lion. All in all, these different ancient symbols make this not only a beautiful, tiny work of art, but also a conversation piece.
