This lovely bar brooch was made after 1922, when the whole world was experiencing Egyptomania after Howard Carter famously discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun.

The cartouche on the front was used by the Ancient Egyptians to write the name of a Pharoah, although I have not been able to decipher these symbols, and they might not spell out anything but just be chosen for their decorative appeal.
