This watch fob seal originally hung from a gentleman's watch chain. It is made from 9k gold and fitted with a carnelian seal, engraved with an intaglio of a marriage plinth. On the plinth we see two flaming hearts - a symbol of love - and the initials 'VRML'.
It is likely that this seal was created or gifted as a remembrance of a marital union, and I think it is sweet to imagine that its wearer likely closed off his letters for many years after this marriage using this love seal.
