This yellow gold locket is most beautiful when it is opened, revealing a star shape with four panels, each containing an oval picture frame.
Each panel has a different, intricate engraving at the back. The one of the panels is decorated with engraved bellflowers, which in Victorian times symbolized gratitude, humility, and faithfulness.

The inside of each picture frame measures 15 x 12 mm.
Weight: 8.20 grams.
Age: 19th Century, also known as the Victorian era, circa 1860s.
Hallmarks: The locket carries hallmarks which cannot be read anymore: it therefore has been acid-tested as at least 10k gold.
Condition: In good antique condition with signs of wear, consistent with its age. There are a few minor dents, and some of the frames have minor scuffs from when they were opened; this can be seen in the pictures.
The frames are quite tight and can be difficult to open. I will therefore ship the locket with the frames removed, so you can fill them and close them up without worrying about having to open them.
