This 18k gold ring has a three-pronged split ring shank, which holds a silver kite-shaped setting, which is studded with nine rose-cut diamonds in closed settings.
Traditionally, rose-cut diamonds were set in silver to optimize their colour and brilliance, while the gold shank offered durability and and prevented the silver from potentially tarnishing and staining skin or clothing.
