This 18k gold French signet ring is still in beautiful condition, with finely detailed shoulders and a crisp monogram.
The shoulders of the ring are decorated with thistle flowers, which are famed for their ability to flourish in harsh conditions and therefore often used as a symbol of resilience, strength, and courage.
The monogram, created in Gothic letters, is a bit tricky to decipher. It definitely has a 'C' in there, and if you read it without putting it in mirror image, as you would do with a wax seal, I believe it reads 'CE/EC'. If you put it in mirror image, it likely reads 'CL/LC'. I will leave it up to the new owner to decide what they can decipher!
