This round perfume flask is carved from a single piece of banded agate. Its silver mounting is set with six round-cut rubies, and the stopper is set with an emerald. The stopper is hung from a safety chain, and the bottle itself is also suspended from a chain. Originally it would have been worn on a chatelaine, a girlde hook that contained several practical items for everyday use.
