This 18k yellow gold arrow-shaped brooch differs from most arrow brooches because this arrow has clearly hit a target and has curled up upon the impact!
Its design is set with an antique brilliant-cut diamond of approximately 0.22 carats and seventeen rose-cut diamonds. All diamonds are set in open settings, allowing light to pass through the stones.
The arrow is famously the weapon of Cupid. In the mid-19th Century, and well into the first half of the 20th Century, brooches shaped like arrows were a very popular gift between lovers.
